Kid Speak, Part 13

Kid Speak

We all know kids are full of potential and can often surprise us with great revelations about the world we live in. They can also say some pretty funny stuff…

If you have heard a child say something funny enough to repeat, Submit Them Here!

This week we’re going to do something a little different. Instead of hearing from kids, I asked some of my fellow teachers to anonymously describe how they felt about starting school this week.

“Thank God I’m going back to work teaching. 28 1st graders have to be easier than 1 18 year old!”

“Why are there 35 kids in my preschool classroom?! More little people for me to love on and learn from.”

“I can’t wait to see my students again, but I am dreading the paperwork!”

“So many things are possible at the start of the year when energy is up and expectations are high; if we hold on to those, we’ll succeed.”

“I just want to be home with my kids.”

“I’m really looking forward to saying the same thing a thousand times…and that’s just to the parents…”

*DISCLAIMER – For the protection of the children involved, no real names will be used. When necessary, all boys will be named Conrad and all girls will be named Casey, after my two childhood dogs.

Nate Compton

Attempting to teach future generations the benefits of a nerdy life, Nate spends his days molding the minds of children, and his nights nerding it up anyway he can. Trek over Wars, Michigan over State, and Marvel over DC. What else do you need to know?
